Broken Hearted

After her 16th birthday, Melody decides to spend a year with her grandfather. She makes friends, learns more about her mother and helps with matters of state. Triton even thinks she might be clever enough to be the next heir of the kingdom (hasn't told her yet).
This snip is a second part of another one I'm still working on. Basically, she's fallen for Octavos (an octopus-man) and confronts her grandfather about reconnecting with the octopus-people. He, however, has many prejudices and bad experiences with octopus-people. Melody doesn't think that they're all the same.. right?

I haven't posting anything in a while so I thought I'd post something I've had for a while. I'm interested in what makes Melody look like herself rather than her mother in a wig. Thus far, I know it's the eyebrows and bangs. I also suspect that it has something to do with her lips or nose, but I'm not 100-percent. Any advice would be very appreciated.
Octavos is a character I'm working on. Since he's a mixture of several different characters, I'm trying to make all the parts look more uniform for a better appearance. He's a kind-hearted soul, who's the abandoned son of Ursula. I'm thinking about doing something with him fighting his inner darkness (I know cliche).
